Big Baller! Inside Rolls-Royce exhibition

IMG_3615.JPG

There is something disgustingly annoying about nice things.. When you see someone carrying a nice bag your eyes will have the automatic reaction to stare at it, but for some reason a certain kind of rule comes up in our heads which says – stop staring your eyeballs out you weirdo! After struggling with this for many years I decided the following; When you see something you like.. Lets say a pair of stunning Givenchy boots worn by a very snobbish lady, and you can’t resist the staring temptation, just point your face towards the target and whatever you do, DON’T take your eyes off the boots for exactly 5 seconds. Breath in – breath out, and collect all your courage and kindness while you look the snob in the eyes and say.. Wow, what a wonderful boots! Wondering what you have gained? Well you managed to look at something your eyes desperately are drawn to, and you pinned down the fact that you will look less like a weirdo as you just gave someone a compliment!
Alright.. perhaps not everyone will agree with my theory but that doesn’t take away the fact that I love to look at nice things!
So when I received an invitation last week from Rolls-Royce to come down as one of their VIP guest for a private tour in their mind blowing interactive “inside Rolls-Royce” exhibition, I could obviously not refuse. ( Specially after I just admitted how I love to stare at nice things)
The exhibition tour which was located in JBR until the 29th of march was led by Marc Mileau, Marketing Manager of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars – who actually conceptualized the exhibition! He explained us about all the beautiful handcrafted parts that you can find inside a Rolls-Royce.

The first interactive public exhibition allowed us to experience a multi-sensory journey through the company’s world-renowned engineering, design and craftsmanship, providing new levels of insight into the remarkable lengths required to create the world’s pinnacle super-luxury Motor Car.

We were even presented with the opportunity to commission our very own Bespoke Rolls-Royce via an iPad configurator by taking a picture of for example my Nicholas Kirkwood shoes, which created a matching customised Rolls-Royce!

The exhibition took place over eight rooms, each focusing on one key aspect in the creation of a Rolls-Royce Motor Car.  A room showcasing colour will bring Rolls-Royce’s palette of 44,000 paint hues to life through an innovative digital display.

Whilst the sheer beauty of the natural wood used in each motor car, sourced from all over the world, will be displayed in a tactile environment dedicated to the material. Expert craftspeople from the Home of Rolls-Royce, in Goodwood, England, demonstrated the skills required to create the ‘Best Cars in the World.’

An exhibition highlight is the Spirit of Ecstasy take centre stage, providing visitors with the opportunity to ‘become the spirit’, briefly transforming themselves into the iconic statuette that embellishes every Rolls-Royce Motor Car.  A video wall will capture and emulate the movements of each guest through motion-capture technology.
