When I was 4 years old my mother bought me and my brother both a goldfish. Mine was called bubble. Happy as Larry with my new fish I could sit hours in front of the fishbowl staring at bubble swimming from left to right and from right to left. My highlight of the day was feeding time, but as me and my brother both had a fish we had to take turns every other day. At that age, sharing or collaborating anything with your brother is highly inadvisable. I still clearly remember the day I walked into the living room and there he stood… right in front of the fishbowl… Dropping the flakes straight from his hand into the bowl while giving me a big smirk on his face.. An important fact was that it was MY feeding day, my turn to hold that orange plastic canister, carefully select the colorful flakes and sprinkle it like magic dust above the fishbowl. Instantly my eyes started to fill up with tears with a loud scream bursting out of my mouth. When hell broke loose my mom calmed me down and kindly handed over the fish food so I could feed bubble. There I sat, for hours.. feeding bubble. It was the best day of my life! Until the next morning. Bubble was dead and his mate too, both floating in the fishbowl. Cause of death? Over-feeding. I felt like my life was over..
Ever since, my obsession for fish carried on. My parents build a small pond in the garden where we could keep a rapidly growing collection of fish and when I was older I saved up all my money to pass for my PADI diving license. With that in my pocket I have been on numerous diving trips to see life under the sea. Shipwreck diving in India, finding Nemo in Thailand and diving with the great white sharks in South Africa are just a few of the trips I made to kick up the adrenaline. But when TAG HEUER contacted me to come and dive in the Atlantis resort, one of the most beautiful aquariums in the world, to discover their deep water watch collection, I knew this was going to be the most exciting adrenaline kick ever!
Led by the TAG HEUER hashtag #dontcrackunderpressure I took a voyage into the deep aquarium water of Atlantis’s ambassador Lagoon together with over 65000 sea creatures. Geared up in a TAG HEUER diving suit and an underwater camera I explored the beautiful timepieces that were presented under water with as backdrop a kaleidoscopic variety of fish, sharks and rays. During this one of a kind occasion I bravely completed the challenge of finding the 10 exclusive TAG HEUER timepieces hidden on the bottom of the lagoon surrounded by sharks whilst not cracking under pressure!
For over 150 years Tag HEUER has been affiliated with the bold, those who are brave in the face of adversity, persistent, hardworking and energetic. TAG HEUER has never been a brand that merely follows the crowd and this 2015 collection showcase was the key evidence that Tag HEUER delivers truly a one of a kind breathtaking experience.
TAG HEUER, the brand that makes its own rules, chooses its own path, never quits, never compromises and most importantly never cracks under pressure!
Thank you TAG HEUER for giving me one of the most amazing experiences of my life!
